Lowrider bikes first appeared in the 1960's in America. It was started by 'Custom King' George Barris who customised automobiles. Kids would copy his work, but on their bikes, keeping the cost a little lower than customising cars.
BMX bikes hit the scene soon after, and the trend shifted to these, but the Lowrider returned in the 70's when Mexicano kids started to customised their bikes more than ever before.
